The channel was first a public channel at its creation. Since the privatization of TF1 in 1987, it is part of the TF1 Group, which belongs to Bouygues.

The TF1 group also owns various media in France and Europe:

The most popular programs on TF1

On this leader channel, 5 programs stand out:

  • The Journal de 13H, a news program, has just under 6 million viewers, 33% of whom are women.
  • The Journal de 20H news program has a 23% audience share in 2020, an increase of 2 points among women and 3 points among 25- to 49-year-olds in 2021 compared to 2020.
  • Reportages, the weekend magazine, attracts an average of 3.7 million viewers on both Saturday and Sunday.
  • Koh-Lanta, an entertainment/adventure game show, holds the evening audience record with more than 5 million viewers among the women responsible for household purchases under the age of 50.
  • The Voice, an entertainment show broadcast every Saturday, attracted nearly 5 million viewers in its 10th season, with an average audience share of 25.06%. The May 15’s finale drew 5.4 million viewers, 25.3% audience share.

The M6 advertising rate is calculated from format indices on a 30-second basis. Depending on the index and the duration of the advertisement, the rates can vary greatly. However, on average, a 30-second ad in a popular program costs about 20,000 Euros.

All preferences and customization options are subject to a surcharge.

For example: if an advertiser wants to broadcast an ad in 2 different formats, the broadcast of the second format is increased by 15%.

Replay advertising solutions

MYTF1 is the digital version of the channel. It is TF1's replay platform. There are currently 27 million registered visitors on the application. This makes it possible to effectively target an advertising campaign to the advertiser's catchment area or to a target region.
