Top advertisers in France in 2020

The Kantar study released a few days ago shows the results of the top 100 advertisers in 2020. A particular year marked by Covid-19 which is reflected in the ranking with big winners and losers!

The losers in this ranking

On the losing side, one of the sectors to have suffered the full force of this health crisis is the automotive sector. With a 3% drop in investments for Renault, the brand still managed to retain second place on the podium. However, the fall in investments of 37.9% for Peugeot and 31.6% for Citroën, make them fall from 4th to 11th place for the first and from 6th to 14th place for the second. This leaves their places in the top 10 to new advertisers such as Amazon, Bouygues Telecom and Mc Donalds.

The big winners

On the winning side, we find the players of the mass retail sector. E. Leclerc keeps its first place with +1,3% of investment followed closely by Intermarché +22,2% in third place, Lidl in 4th place with +1% and finally Carrefour in 6th place with +6%. But if there is one big winner this year, it is Amazon. Its meteoric rise has taken it from 38th place in 2017 to 8th place in 2020!
